Please indicate your interest in serving on one or more of the following committees. You will note that some committees have completed their functions for the 2007 year or are in the middle of projects. By indicating your interest, you will be added to the committee at an appropriate point in the year.
ACTIVITIES
DINNER DANCE: 2008 event will take place on January 26th at the Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim. Committee duties involve planning of the event, ticket sales, assisting with décor set up. The 2007/2008 Chair is Alan Hindman (Monterey Mushrooms).
EDUCATION COMMITTEE: 2008 Committee works on planning education courses, solicit sponsors, encourage attendance, assists with set up. Co-sponsors events with other organizations and entities. 2008 Co-Chairs are Amanda Grillo (Deminski, Van Valkenburg & Assoc.), Marty Craner (B & C Fresh Sales) and Dick Spezzano (Spezzano Consulting Service, Inc.).
FRESH PRODUCE & FLORAL COUNCIL EXPO-So. Cal.: Plans and coordinates 2008 expo and educational sessions. Expo will be held on July 15, 2008 at the Disneyland Hotel Exhibit Hall. 2008 Chair is Debi Orrin-Duffin (Litehouse Foods). 2009 Chair is Wes Liefer (United Produce)
FRESH PRODUCE & FLORAL COUNCIL EXPO-No. Cal.: Plans and coordinates 2008 expo. Expo will be held on March 5, 2008 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, Ca. The Co-chairs are Dick Spezzano (Spezzano Consulting Service, Inc.) and Grant Hunt (Grant J. Hunt Co.)
BOWLING TOURNAMENT: Plans and coordinates FPFC family event. Heavy participation by LA. Produce Market companies. 2008 Chair is Stepanie Lewis (The Oppenheimer Group)
GOLF TOURNAMENT-So. Cal.: Plans and coordinates annual FPFC golf tournament. 2008Tournament will be held Monday, August 18 at the Newport Beach Country Club. Co-chairmen for the event are Mike O’Leary (Boskovich Farms) and Fernando Terrazas (Unified Foodservice Purchasing) and Debi Orrin-Duffin (Litehouse Foods)
GOLF TOURNAMENT-No. Cal.: Plans and coordinates annual FPFC golf tournament. Tournament will be held June 9 at Pasatiempo Golf Course in Santa Cruz, CA. Chairman is Jeff Kyer (Interlink Marketing Group).
WHOLESALE MARKET COMMITTEE: Plans and coordinates activities to include members of the LA Wholesale Market in the activities of the FPFC. Chairman Rick Montoya (The Giumarra Companies) and Vice Chairman Maurie Thomas (Caldwell & Sons, Inc.).
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA COMMITTEE: Oversees the activities of the Northern California group. Plans the luncheon meetings. Co-chairs: Michael Janis (San Francisco Wholesale Produce Market), Greg Corrigan (Raley’s Supermarkets), Rick Smith (Save Mart Supermarkets).
DAY AT THE RACES: Plans the annual family day at the horse races at Santa Anita Park. Chairman Pat McDowell (Perimeter Sales & Merchandising)
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: Seeks new members for the Fresh Produce & Floral Council. Co-chairs: Bob Waldusky (Fresh Gourmet Co.), Shawn Dagen (Edge Sales & Marketing), Greg Corrigan (Raley’s Supermarkets), Scott Lehmen (AMS Exotics).
FINANCE COMMITTEE: Reviews the financial long-term investments of the council from time to time to insure the best secure return on member money. Chairman Tim Riley (The Giumarra Cos.)
MARKETING COMMITTEE: Lends assistance to all committees of the FPFC in marketing the activities and bringing new participation to the Council. Co-chairs: Jin Ju Wilder (Coast Produce) and Robert Schueller (Melissa’s World Variety Produce).
